Teaching profile:

The person recruited should have a strong background in chemistry, previous experience of teaching physical and/or analytical chemistry TP or TD would be appreciated, and a demonstrated willingness to become strongly involved in the life of the institution. The candidate will be part of the teaching team in Faculté de Chimie and will have the following responsibilities: Teaching: 

- Designing and delivering lectures, tutorials and practical work in soft matter and materials chemistry, general chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, particularly at the bachelor and master level in chemistry. 

-Regularly updating course content to include the latest scientific and technological advances in soft matter chemistry (particularly in the field of polymers: synthesis methods and characterization techniques). 

-Actively involved in the preparation and evaluation of examinations and the ongoing assessment of students. 

Supervision and monitoring: 

- Supervise and evaluate work placements in companies or laboratories. 

- Participation in examination boards and teaching committees. Teaching innovation: - Developing and integrating innovative teaching methods, particularly using digital tools, to enhance student learning. - Participating in the development and updating of chemistry education programmes.

Research profile:

The future lecturer will join the 'Polymer Engineering and Process Intensification' (IP2) team at the Charles Sadron Institute (ICS, UPR 22). S/he will develop original research directly related to the unit's cross-cutting theme of functional and hierarchical (macro)molecular materials. The person recruited will have to commit to ambitious research projects based on the team's skills in macromolecular and physical chemistry, with a view to developing porous polymers with controlled morphology and functionality for specific applications in the field of the environment and sustainable development in the broadest sense. The aim of this recruitment is to accompany the arrival of the ICS Director and to create a strong synergy between polymer chemists, soft matter physical chemists and polymer materials experts within a scientific environment of excellence.

-Teaching skills: Design and management of teaching methods: Ability to design courses, teaching materials and activities tailored to the student population, incorporating innovative digital tools to facilitate learning.

Supervising and supporting students: Ability to guide students along their academic path, supervise individual work (dissertations, projects) and promote their personal and professional development.

-Research skills:

Research production: Ability to present research work through publications in scientific journals or presentations at conferences, with a commitment to a promising research dynamic.

Participation in research projects: Ability to contribute to collective projects within a research team, in particular through collaboration, writing or analysis.

Participation in academic networks: Willingness to participate in research networks at national or international level and to start mentoring young researchers (trainees or co-supervision of PhD students).

In the context of the impact and internationalisation policy of the University of Strasbourg, both in terms of research and education, it is hoped that all assistant professor will demonstrate competence in English, both for teaching and for the promotion of their research.
